Brakiva™ (topotecan liposomes injection, OPTISOME™)

A Novel Targeted Anti-Cancer Compound for Small-Cell Lung Cancer and Ovarian Cancer.

Preclinical data demonstrate the value of Brakiva™ over standard topotecan:

Prolonged circulation time and increased plasma AUC
10-fold increased drug delivery to tumor sites
10 to 20-fold increased anti-tumor activity in non-clinical models
Optisome core pH of 4.0 maintains lactone ring integrity so that drug is delivered to tumor in its fully active form (see chart below)

Ongoing Trials

Brakiva's IND has been activated. Brakiva will enter Phase 1 trials in the second half of 2008.
